Calcium Effervescent Tablets 500 strengths contain large amounts of calcium salts and soluble ionisable, allowing an adequate intake of calcium as a pleasant tasting drink. Approximately 30% of ionized calcium is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. These forms are indicated for the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic states of calcium deficiency, and to treat various forms of disorders of bone metabolism. Indications from various Osteoporosis (postmenopausal, senile, induced by corticosteroids, consecutive gastrectomy or prolonged immobilization) often in combination with complementary medications. Prevent bone demineralisation in pre-and postmenopausal. Rickets and osteomalacia, as additional treatment specific therapy. Latent tetany. States with high calcium needs: pregnant or nursing women, growing children. Allergic States (as treatment support) CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to the product, hypercalcemia (eg. Hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D overdose, such as tumor decalcification plasmocitomul or bone metastases), severe hypercalciuria, severe renal insufficiency. Adverse reactions can occur in rare cases mild gastrointestinal disorders (bloating, constipation or diarrhea). INTERACTIONS: Calcium may reduce the oral absorption of oral tetracycline or fluoride preparations. Be kept a period of at least 3 hours, if concomitant treatment. Concomitant therapy with vitamin D increases calcium absorption. Calcium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract may be diminished by concomitant intake of certain foods such as spinach, rhubarb, bran, cereals, milk and dairy products. While large doses of vitamin D, calcium may reduce the response to verapamil and possibly other calcium channel blockers. Digitalized patients, high doses of oral calcium may increase risk of cardiac arrhythmias. Precautions: In patients with hypercalciuria (exceeding 300 mg = 7.5 mmol/24 hours), with mild or moderate renal insufficiency or a history of calculus kidney, it is necessary to monitor urine calcium excretion. When necessary, the dose of calcium will be reduced or treatment should be discontinued. In patients prone to urinary tract calculi, we recommend a high intake of fluids. Avoid taking high doses of vitamin D during treatment with calcium, except with express indication to that effect.
